Andrea is a member of Reed Smith’s Financial Industry Group and its Energy & Natural Resources Group, practicing in the areas of Disputes, Commercial Restructuring & Bankruptcy, and Derivatives & Structured Products, and is a Team Leader of the firm's Derivatives & Structured Products Group. She is also the chair of the IECA’s CLEG Education Focus Group.
Andrea advises clients about investing or trading strategies, cross-border issues, derivative transactions based on ISDA and similar documentation, Dodd-Frank compliance, structured debt and disputes concerning breach of contract.
Andrea also represents commodities traders, financial institutions, hedge funds, other institutional investors, bondholders and indenture trustees, as well as ad-hoc and official committees, secured creditors, governmental entities, private individuals and debtors-in-possession. Her bankruptcy practice includes all aspects of Chapter 11 cases, as well as out-of-court workouts involving private and publicly held companies, with particular experience in the area of derivative counterparty rights under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code safe harbors. In addition, she has extensive litigation experience in federal and state courts in domestic and international commercial disputes.
Andrea regularly speaks about bankruptcy practice and OTC derivatives, and has been a presenter for the IECA about bankruptcy issues as well as the impact of Dodd Frank on the energy sector.
