Located in Calgary Alberta Canada, Michael graduated from the University of Alberta in 1986 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and finance major. He began his credit career at the Royal Bank of Canada as lending and branch administration officer. In 1993 he joined Equifax, a consumer and commercial credit reporting bureau where he managed a portfolio of energy accounts. Michael moved to EPCOR Utilities in 2001 as Senior Credit Analyst where he provided credit support for both the regulated & non-regulated gas & power trading portfolios. Michael transitioned to the oil and gas sector in 2007 and is with Nexen Energy ULC, a subsidiary of CNOOC Limited, one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies with operations in Asia, Africa, North and South America, Oceania and Europe. Michael manages the Credit, Marketing Contracts and Enterprise Risk Management functions for Nexen and is a long standing member of the IECA.
